ReSound devices

Does anyone here use the ReSound (mini mic?). I hear quite well with Bluetooth but not face to face. Someone has to be very close to me for me to hear what they are saying. I’m having difficulty finding out exactly what I would get from this device. Any info would be much appreciated.

Bobbie915, if you mean by "mini mic", a microphone that sends the sound to your hearing aid, then I can say that it certainly is useful. My version of it is a bluetooth (digital radio) or simple audio receiving unit that sends a regular radio signal to my hearing aid. It works very well. I only have one ear to work with and I miss a lot of the sound around me. With the mic, I can either hold it out toward the person I'm having trouble hearing or let them hold it and talk at it. The biggest drawback is that some people will shout into it and that can do damage to my ear.I'm in the US, so the terminology may be a little different here (never heard of a mini mic and Googling it gets me toys!).

I then Googled ReSound mini mic and, yes, it is similar to what I use. Mine is another brand and cost me $400 a couple of years ago. Mine also picks up the sound signal from my cell phone and sends it straight to my ear. I have had some of the best phone conversations I've had in years since I got this!

So, my answer is that my similar device is well worth the cost to me. Good luck in any event.

Thank you so much for your very helpful reply.

I also have ReSound 3D hearing aids. Phone calls no problem with iPhone or iPad. It’s the face to face talking I have a problem with. From what you have said, I think this would work very well for me. I know what you mean about shouting, doesn’t work, clarity is much more important.

I also saw the device with 2 names! There is another, I think called Multi but that one said to stand on a table.

Thanks again, best wishes.

I did buy the multi mic and yes it does work. I am also sight impaired and found it almost impossible to see the small buttons. I have Resound aids and had completely forgotten that Live Listen is available on them but have never tried it out. When I turned it on it did what the mic did. When I mentioned to my audiologist that I was going to buy the mic, he did not tell me about this feature! I have returned the mic and will hopefully get a refund. Best wishes to you. Bobbie

Isn’t it a mine field out there? I have a friend who has had aids for longer than 10 years and he didn’t even know if they had had Bluetooth! There might be some very good equipment out there but personally, I think they are only as good as your audiologist.

Can't argue with that! My audiologist is a medical Dr. so very good.

It really helps to have the user's guide!

When I got mine, I asked for Bluetooth capability and the pendant to go with it. When I go for a drive, my car automatically connects so I can listen to music and talk handless on the phone. I love it.
