How long did it take from when you first saw your primary doctor about your condition’s symptoms to when you saw a specialist?

I went privately to hearing specialist for initial check and for hearing aids, the GP said I would have to wait 3 years for appointment to see a specialist. I got hearing aids on the NHS several years later though, when the specialist wrote to my GP to request it.
I live in Scotland and was very fortunate that I was seen by the Audiologist 4 weeks after my gp referred me.
