if I have seborrheic dermatitis, does that mean I will get Parkinson’s disease? I’m 29 and have had Seborrheic dermatitis for some years now? I saw some people get it after but not before. Scared at the moment

Lots of things can cause seborrheic dermatitis, including depression.
You mentioned anxiety and depression. Are you making any progress addressing that issue?
I'm not suggesting you ignore your medical issues. Just try to not embrace the worst case scenario.
Good luck and may God bless you.
yes working on my anxiety and depression. I’ve had seborrheic since I was about 22-23. It’s always come and go depending on season or stress. Just was wondering if I’ve had it before, does it make me more prone to getting Parkinson’s later on or only applies to people who get Parkinson’s and get it after. I think I did see it saying having SD doesn’t mean I’ll get it
It is my understanding that far more people get seborrheic dermatitis than get Parkinson's.
I agree with Bolt, i.e., does not mean you will get PD.
Interesting, I never realized that Seborrheic dermatitis was another symptom of Parkinson’s. I suffered from a real bad case before I was diagnosed. I had been working on addressing this symptom again separately from my other list of symptoms. I tried Head &Shoulders shampoos, other zinc shampoos, tar shampoos and then I found a tea tree shampoo in a hotel and my scalp has never felt so good. I probably should clarify that I basically at 50 had a severe case of cradle cap. I did not have it anywhere else on my body. Anyway, long story short for me, I use Paul Mitchell’s Tea Tree oil shampoo and Dove’s dry hair conditioner. I am seriously like a new person. By the way, I am now 63. It took me 12 years to find this nugget. Cheers!
I've had PD for around 12 years. Before, or around same time, I developed terrible itching. not head, but arms and legs. drives me crazy. It only starts at night when I go to bed. I was recently told this was SD. I've got a steroidal cream, but not much works.
or maybe just a shortage.
do you want a tip? get out of here if you can. This is Cure Parkinson’s that doesn't exist, a place of happy desperate people.

Grazie Gio, Handy overview. As I just responded to “Seborrheic dermatitis is associated with PD. It has links to neurodegeneration”. You should be careful to draw premature conclusions with such research. I wondered if the supposed link of these phenomena / diseases with Parkinson's onset may rather be due to certain vitamin deficiencies. In the case of Seborrhoeic dermatitis, that could be vitamin B6, associated with decreased risk or PDncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...
So perhaps better check your B levels curiousperson55! 🍀
Has anyone ever suggested that sd can lead to pd?
Hubby didn’t get SD until after he had Parkinson’s. I wouldn’t worry….you’re young. Enjoy life!
If you have additional risk factors, or develop other early symptoms like constipation, rem sleep disorder, or loss of smell, then you can worry.
I do have constipation. I mean I go once a day but not how I used to. It takes a while now. With some bad neck tension. this could all be from my anxiety and stress
Getting scared and stressed will help you to get PD. I know many people who had your condition and they did not get PD till 80, yet. I had it and I got PD after 60. Relax and enjoy life.
Skin issues are a symptom of gut issues. Fix your gut now and you will stave off PD for decades. It will also help with your health anxiety. You're fortunate to have stopped by and learn ways to improve and maintain your health while you still have it.Best wishes,
