Light Therapy Trial: Update starting to recruit in December 2022

For those who might be interested, I received the message below from PhotoPharmics today providing an update to a light therapy clinical trial that I have been tracking for close to a year:

Celeste Light for PD Trial Update

Hello!

We want to update you about the status of our pivotal clinical trial (which can also be called a phase 3 trial). On top of FDA Breakthrough Device designation, we're pleased to let you know we expect to begin recruiting in December of this year.

I wonder how the Celeste differs from the Coronet from WellRed or Vielight, if at all.

Here is a description of the device from the clinical trial listing on clinicaltrials.gov:

The Celeste specialized phototherapy device is similar to a tablet with a stand that allows the device to be angled towards the participant's face. The light is to be used each evening in the home for 1 hour, while the participant watches TV, eats dinner, reads, etc.

It sounds like the device stimulates the eyes directly.. Dr Huberman says to elevate dopamine one must get real sunshine for a few minutes every morning. But Vielight and Wellread produce near infrared which stimulates brain mitochondria.

I am not familiar with this device but I know that photostimulation to improve Parkinson Symptoms is an active area of research. Apparently there are several clinical studies now ongoing in UK, USA an Australia with the SYMBYX laser treatment. Maybe check their website too. symbyxbiome.com

I just began using the duo coronet and it’s made my eyes super sensitive to light. Has anyone else experienced or heard of this?
