Does anyone have balance problems?

I take care of my sister, she has Parkinson's. She was diagnosed in 2018, so she has been 3 years with Parkinson's. She was off balanced at the beginning, and had the shuffling gait. She saw a Neurologist, that said she had Parkinson's. She was given an MRI, and the Neurologist showed us that her swallowtail had decreased and that showed she had Parkinson's. She has never had tremors until lately, and she tilts her head to the side. She said her head feels heavy at times. Has anyone else had balance problems or had a heavy head.

My balance and foggy mind were fixed by HDT. I was dxd 5 years ago.

I have not been diagnosed with PD. I have been diagnosed with REM Sleep Behavior Disorder in April. They say it may be pre-Parkinson's. I noticed my head felt heavy this summer when cutting the grass. I do have a big head and I lost a bunch of weight so I'm hoping that is all it was. I'm not having the issue anymore, but have been taking HDT (and a lot of other stuff) since April.

Thanks for your response. I hope you don't have Parkinson's. I checked and HDT is High-Dose Thiamine. Vitamin B-1 makes my sister tremble too much.

My balance is terrible with PD. If I start to veer off to the left or right (which happens pretty often) I can easily fall if I don't grab the wall or something, just cannot stop myself. Same as on the basketball court, I am definitely good for a few falls during the games. I feel myself losing my balance & I cannot stop myself going down, very frustrating.

My balance was terrible since the beginning of my PD. Recently I started taking Inositol and Citicholine, my feet are more flexible and able to make small adjustments. I feel this made my balance issue more manageable. My tremor also improved, and I am able to lay down on my bed face up, without whole body shaking like earthquake. I am currently taking 250 mg citicholine and 375 mg inositol, twice a day. Hope this helps!

Yes Balance is my most consequential symptom since I keep falling. At night I am using a walker. But I dont know what to do about the day falls. Maybe a cane? I am only 61. I am focusing on it now that I am up to 7 falls so far. I will let you know when I learn something. Best wishes. Paul
