Thumb joint pain through Osteoarthritis

have had severe pain in my right thumb now for over a week. The upside of my thum is numb and I have a lump just above on my wrist. The pain has been so bad and the only way I can describe it s it’s like an electric shock goes up my thumb. Doctor today has given me Gabapentin which is for nerve pain. So hopefully it will help. Doctor says the lump feels like a Ganglion which is the first time I’ve had it there. Has anyone else had this problem. And will the tablets help.

Yes the gabapentin will help. It can make you tired or dizzy do see how it affects you before being out or driving. Goo luck.
