So sorry to hear you're in a lot of pain and that you aren't sleeping.

Have you tried taking paracetamol for the pain? If you have and it's not touching the pain you could always phone your IBD team and ask for their advice.

Rest assured that the flare that you're in won't last forever. In the meantime try catching up with your sleep during the day. Be kind to yourself.

Have you been given any medication since your colonoscopy? It can take a little while to work. You can take paracetamol but don't use anything like ibuprofen which can make the condition worse. Some people find heat helps (hot water bottle or similar). Catching up on sleep at any time is good advice. Hope things improve soon.

So sorry you’re in pain. I find hot baths or a heating pad helpful. Epsom salt in bath also may help. I sometimes add almond oil to the water for skin moisturizing. In a flare I avoid sleeping on left side where I have colitis pain. Propping with a firm pillow helps. And of course a prednisone taper to get me over the flare.
