Blood in stool every 3-4 weeks

Hi everyone, merry Christmas. Probably not the post you want to see on Christmas Day but hey ho. Since august I’ve had blood on the outer part of my stool, mainly on the clumpy bits that are joined together first and then followed by the more solid looking stool bit which won’t have any. It’s been almost the same pattern, with the blood being on the same bottom part of the stool. I haven’t been constipated but I do get abdominal pain. The blood is probably as much as i could wipe on one side of a cotton bud. I had a colonoscopy done 3 years ago for blood in stool which was clear. I’m 28. Should i be concerned if I’ve had this every 3-4 weeks since august? Pic included

Maybe gastritis or peptic ulcer? Try frozen blueberry smoothie everyday. It heals. As it healed mine.

Would gastritis cause fresh bits of blood so far down the stool?

Peptic ulcer have dark blood or dark bloody stool. If its red blood maybe your concern is on the lower gi like the anus or intestines. Maybe u have some cuts or inflammation in there . Try the blue berry smoothie since it heals ulcer so maybe same effect for the intestines And anus. And eat internal bleed healing foods u can research. Try different foods . It’s better and safer than trying different meds by doctors anyways. They experiment u with meds but leads to side effects so the best thing to do is work on it yourself. They key is how you eat and what you eat. But dont stop going to doctors.

No way of knowing what you have going on. Best thing to do is get to a gi & have lower & upper scopes done. The other side of the coin, often people find out it's something they have eaten.

Thanks. I have got a private consultation as the wait was 6 months but can’t afford the diagnostics so I’m hoping they can refer me for these, but I feel like they may only refer me for one.

I’m 28 and had a colonoscopy three years ago. So would something bad have grown in that space of time?

Hi Kaida, I notice you say you are 28, if female could it be that the bleeding is cyclic? In other words does it coincide with the time around your period? I only ask because I was experiencing this too. It turned out that I had both ulcerative colitis and endometriosis and at around the same age. Obviously, not something you would want but not ' sinister' at least. I do hope you get help. I found that Agnus castus, a herbal remedy helped enormously. Good luck!

Hi Ciccia, thank you for your reply. No, I’m male. My bleeding is still there and it seems to be around the same spot for every stool I have, quite low down and practically the same amount every time. I had a colonoscopy three years ago so I’m hoping it’s nothing sinister

Bro, u said u had colonoscopy 3 years back for blood in stool and clear. So after the colonoscopy, ur bleeding stop?? I asked because I had blood in stool in March and had colonoscopy, result was fine but then my situation now is having blood in stool sometimes a few days, sometimes once a few weeks so in short, I don’t have an answer to my blood in stool as the result was fine.so i wanna know how are you after the colonoscopy 3 years back, blood stop immediately?? And what cause the blood, did the doc tell u in ur colonoscopy

In that 3 years I didn’t notice anything and there was no follow up as there was no cause for concern:

Ic, so meaning after the colonoscopy, your bleeding in stool stop till now once again? Mine also sometimes bleeding in stool even after my colonoscopy. So are you going back to the doc or just leave it as it is

I am going back as it’s been a few years and been happening since august. Obviously, it hopefully shouldn’t be anything sinister but it’s important to go back and get it checked so that’s what I’m doing

So have you go back to your scope and have you find out the answer to it

No I’ve got a endoscopy/colonoscopy scheduled, just waiting for an appointment so should be within the next 4 weeks hopefully. Will keep you updated

Haven’t seen any recently but yes even despite having blood for a long time, no present disease or polyps. Was likely to be tears when having stool movement
