It doesn't work for me yet it does work for a lot of people I see at the Digestive disease clinic I have to go to ! With Chrones there is a diet sheet you should have been given that tells you which foods can trigger a bout of Chrones ( a flare up ) and which foods are known to be ok! But everyone is different they seem to forget about that! I have Chrones and Diverticular Disease ,which makes it even more difficult to eat the right things!

Give it a try it may be you're lucky and it works for you, either way ask for a diet sheet or to speak to a dietician! Good Luck

You will find that people with IBD will differ on what diet helps them. Try not eliminate too many food brackets at one time as not only can it lead to not gaining correct nutrition, it also clouds which foods are triggers/troublesome. So for 3 months perhaps try dairy free, then slowly introduce, then repeat with wheat free etc. For me high sat fats are a problem, but I have tried wheat free and dairy free, but no difference.

I am also a long term Crohn's patient, I have been a lactose intollerant all my life, no mothers milk availabe, threw up formula and cows milk. This now does make me worse if I cheat with something I love. I did what Willow24 suggested, with elimination tests over a period of time. With me there are certainly high roughage foods that are a no-no, but I also find that the amount I eat at one sitting causes a problem, I find grazing works best for me. Little and often, oh and no chocolate!!

Thank you for the advice , i think i will just eliminate a few things and see as suggested .

I do find i suffer the next day if i eat chocolate , which is a nuisance really as this is my one weakness .

I too find i can not eat high fiber foods and nuts ect so i do tend to stick to the same old boring diet which is another reason i wanted to look more closely at what i can and can't eat .......not the best time over Christmas but hey i have to start somewhere.

Have a good Christmas everyone

I’m the same. High fibre, fats and chocolate all have very negative effects. If I have too much fresh bread that seems to upset me. I still eat chocolate and suffer the consequences ( I am my own worst enemy).

Have a good Christmas
