Osteoporosis meds
I've been on
coumadin
for almost 11 years for a heart valve replacement and Orgovyx for about 2 years and three months for metastatic prostate cancer. I just had my first bone scan in August 2022 and a second Dec. 8, 20203, and bone less is progressing.

Mechanical Heart Valve
I've been taking
Coumadin
and now warfarin for 18 years. I found out Sept 19 I am due for my 5th open heart surgery but this time it will be for my pulmonary valve that was replaced with a conduit donor valve. I will either have it replaced or ballooned out.

I have some questions that maybe someone can help me with.
I am currently on
Coumadin
(Warfarin) for several pulmonary embolisms, and now my hemoglobin is high and my erythrocytes are high. Also, I am now very low on vitamins D. I have never had problems with low vitamins because I follow a good balanced diet.

What doesn't mix well with Coumadin?
I need to take
Coumadin
/warfarin to keep my blood from becoming ragu...I've recently moved to the Philippines for obvious reasons and I have trouble falling asleep, is there any recommendations? I know I can't take melatonin. Can I take a mild dose of CBD ?

Possible drug interactions with Xtandi and blood thinners - advice needed
Dad's oncologist said
Coumadin
would be an option, but dad is also on plavix and that would create another drug interaction. Not to mention
Coumadin
is difficult to manage, especially so with Xtandi (according to the doctor).

Hypercoagulability and Thrombosis Risk in Prostate Cancer: The Role of Thromboelastography
Having experienced the indignity of frequent trips to the "
Coumadin
(warfarin) Clinic", I have zero tolerance for "normal" D-dimer. It has been said that circulating cancer cells (which are efficiently zapped by the immune system), must dock on a micro-clot to survive.

Long term food intolerance and diet
I also take the anticoagulant, Warfarin (
Coumadin
). Lets get away from all these damn numbers and tests I've drowned in over the last few days .... lets be more down to earth - are there any known triggers for Thyroid issues .... I am 78 by the way.

increasing HCT despite Besremi
I am also on
Coumadin
. My MPN doctor increased my Besremi dose from 50 to 75 mcg a month ago. I take it every 2 weeks. We are going slow with the increased dose because of my autoimmune disorders. He did order a 500 cc phlebotomy to be done tomorrow. I have never had this done before.

INR Testing
For those taking
Coumadin
, when you have INR checked, are you doing finger stick or vein draw. Also, I came across a medical company that supplies an INR machine for use at home, with your doctor’s approval, claiming the service is covered by insurance, but you have to test weekly.

Black Eye while on Coumadin?
I am wondering if anyone has ever had a black eye on
coumadin
. I have one right now and have been told that the blood thinner will make full healing fairly slow. Meanwhile I have bruisy patches all over my face which came on a day or two after the fall that caused the event.

Question on specialists for extremely high APS auto antibodies
I started yesterday bridging to
coumadin
and off plavix. I have a hematologist. I think I need an immunologist? Whom would you recommend in the US? And rheumatologist? Thank you, Sharon

I’m in the exact situation as you are. You say all the things I have going through my head .
They put me on heparin IV drip and
Coumadin
, but
Coumadin
takes at least 5 days to kick in . And now I’m seeing a hematologist who does not seem to raise any RED flags or concern that my Lupus anticoagulant is so high , high Normal? Because it’s only one # away from being positive.

Reconsidering Vinpocetine - Not Feeling Well Today
Vinpocetine may slow blood clotting and should be avoided in people with bleeding disorders or who take anticoagulants like
Coumadin
(warfarin) or anti-platelet drugs like Plavix (clopidogrel).

Death of a family member
My paternal grandmother died of a massive PE and cardiac arrest after being taken off of her
Coumadin
. She also had lupus and aPL. Yesterday, my aunt died of what I think was catastrophic antiphospholipid syndrome after having multiple vascular manipulations done to save her leg.

Lovanox and APS
My doctor switched from
Coumadin
to Lovanox. I was giving myself 150mg once a day for three months. Bloodwork was good and at therapeutic levels. Then I started having pain in my right leg. I had an ultrasound done on my leg. I have a new clot in my upper thigh on my right leg.
