I actually managed to get out of bed today (last Saturday I slept in and missed going to Parkrun). I made the decision to go ahead even though it was raining and windy. I had my usual Saturday breakfast of 2 weetabix and a banana, a cup of tea and a glass of water. I paid my 2 usual visits to the toilet before leaving.
When i parked the car it was raining, so rather than get out and walk to the pavillion and back I sat in the car and waited for 9am. I got out of the car at 8.55 and joined the waiting crowd. Now it did cross my mind that maybe I needed the loo, but dismissed the idea, as I'd been before leaving home, and have very rarely needed to go at the park.
The run was not too bad, the rain didn't bother me, the wind took my breath away a couple of times, and I still had that little nag at the back of my mind that I needed to pee. Well about half way through the 4th kilometer I felt a trickle. My thoughts were OH NO, HOLD ON, NOT FAR TO GO and I kept on running to the end. I could see the finish funnel so saw little point in stopping early, and the 'damage' was already done. So I collected my chip token and made straight for the toilets (luckily very near by) dashing there as fast as I could having just run 5K. AAH the relief. I was already wet from the rain anyway, so there was nothing to see, but I've never registered and got back to the car so quickly.
I'm hoping that this never happens again, and lesson learned I'll visit the loo at the park before hand whether I need to or not next time.
