Even the dog is fed up!

Having injured my ankle last Saturday I am unable to run this week, it's really getting to me! I had only reached the end of week 4, but it really is addictive isn't it?

The dog is missing it too.

I've had a session of Bowen therapy this week (a kind of holistic remedial massage), which will hopefully help to realign my uneven running! My ankle has an old injury which means some of my muscles are over compensating, resulting in a strain.

I am trying to stay positive. But am worried that once my ankle is healed my fitness level will have dropped and I won't be able to run.

Wow - what a whinge I sound!

Well, even *if* your fitness has dropped slightly and you have to go back a week or two in the plan, you know you can do it! :) Just make sure that once you can run again, you do ease back into it - don't go in too hard and trigger the injury again...

I like her even more now, even if she is a gog dog.

Gog is a slang (negative) term for North Walians, hailing from the word gogledd meaning north. There is a great rivalry and a distinct lingusitic difference (in Welsh). We call them gogs they call us either Taffs or Hwntwrs (which means 'from the beyond').

Ah I see! So what would we be called living in North Wales but coming from Yorkshire - dare I ask....? I think Gog might become her new nickname, it really suits her! Thanks cadno!

I don't know if we have a specific term, but the English are called Saes in slang so you could be Saes-gogs if you want to be :) It is really more important which rugby team you will be cheering on Saturday :)

Difficult territory this; I have family connections from both north & south Wales! Leaving that aside, you may well find that your fitness doesn't in fact ebb away all that quickly. Once you start again you'll be doing so on the basis of fitness recently achieved and it'll come back quickly.
