It seems all the talk this week is of parkruns, now it may just be I'm noticing it more because I'm doing my first one this weekend but I thought I'd try to get some idea of numbers of C25k -ers who are going to be out there. It's mild curiosity really but will also give us an idea how many are running (virtually) together.

My son has text to say he will be down tomorrow evening so he can run with me (for the first time!) I will just have to pester him to make sure he registers and prints his barcode as my printer doesn't work!

Not me this week as need to do a long run (aiming for 10miles yikes!) and found it hard the last 2 weeks when did Parkrun on Saturday and ling run Sunday.

Not quite a park run but I am doing my first ever run with other runners! I am doing the Regents Park 5k for the British Heart Foundation. Poor Hubby and kids have agreed to come along and watch, feel a bit sorry for them, I'd rather be running than standing around watching in the rain.
Yes we are me and two sons. Hope to better my time of 39:45 , one son does it around 31/32 and other son just started so may do one lap we will see weather is not looking good x good luck all x

I'm surprisingly excited about it, but also very nervous!
My nerves have been drowned in my excitement, especially as my graduation shirt was sitting on my desk when I got to work this morning (thanks Andy at Complete Runner, as good as your word) but no doubt the nerves will return tomorrow when I get to the park.
Like all us virgins, I'll just have to concentrate on not going off too fast when the action starts....

Heres a tip for you...divide the race into three parts....run the first part with your head....the second part with your personality...and the last bit with your heart!!

and then I just keep plodding on...
I marshalled at the parkrun again today - I was Funnel Manager ! That basically means I asked the runners to stay in order as they went to collect their bar-code tokens. It was a bit drizzly and cold but it was great to see several runners achieving PBs, including the very smiley larger lady at the back who said she had just hoped to finish within a week; an older gentleman friend who beat his previous PB by 3 minutes and several children doing brilliantly. A new runner asked my advice about a niggly pain she had - I was amazed anyone would think I look like someone who knows about such things - but I suggested she just take it easy and she looked cheerful enough (and relieved) when she finished. I'll probably run it with my fifteen year old son next weekend.
