this might be the most beautiful place to run in the world - or at least in the top six

In Tighnabruaich for the weekend. Woke up on Sunday morning in the hotel with a horrible head. My running's getting better but I'm rubbish at drinking now. Went out for a run before breakfast so it didn't get in the way of the day. Feeling SO rough I had to turn my music right down. We were staying right on the sea front and there's a one track, completely flat coastal road so I headed out of the hotel and ran 3k out and 3k back. First ten minutes was really hard. Then everything kicked in - the amazing views across to Bute, the fresh cold air, the sun on the water, a buzzard on the fence post. I wasn't very fast but when got back my hangover was nearly gone. And I had a huge fry-up (friend of mine once asked what the difference is between a full English Breakfast and a full Scottish, the waitress said for the full Scottish we just open the fridge get everything out and fry it)

Absolutely stunning, but impossible to pronounce without inside knowledge (:->)

Glad you are having a good break in the wilderness.

That looks brilliant! Well done for finding a cure for the common hangover ;) Love the definition of a full Scottish breakfast!

That looks like a wonderful run.

I'm very jealous as I had planned a run for this morning at Mallaig - after staying overnight at Fort William - but we had to change plans and come home early.

Mallaig would be gorgeous - hope you got a bit of this good weather while you were there

Looks wonderful. Well done for going out with a hangover, I def couldnt have done that.

I'm just back in London from a short break in Lochaber area & this reminded me of the runs I had last week, along the lochside and 'up the glen' - stunning scenery. Today's run pounding the pavements, avoiding dog poo & keeping a wary eye on the local pit bulls just couldn't compare. Can't wait to go back up & do some more scenic runs.

definitely much easier running when you're somewhere beautiful, which means city runners are the real hard core!
