So I was due to start week 3 today, but it snowed ALL day yesterday and there is still a lot on the ground. I am interested to know people's thoughts on running in/on the snow? I am worried that I will lose the hard work I have put in and have to start from scratch if I miss a few days, any thoughts? This is the first running I have ever done and so panicking!!!!

If it is icy a and slippery underfoot probably best to leave it till conditions improve. If just snowy have been told it is OK to run but have never put this theory to the test. I don't think an extra day or two rest will effect your progress, certainly not a as much as an injury caused by slipping.

I wouldn't worry about missing 1 or 2 days, I think its more just frustrating than likely to put back your training.

We've had snow here for most of the week but I've still gone running on the recreation field. I wouldn't trust the pavements here but the grass is fine. The snow is a little deep so it makes you work a little harder but otherwise its fine. I'm familiar with this field so I know there's no dips or rabbit holes to worry about so I'm happy running there.

I didn't feel too comfortable about running on snow, so although I did a bit, I then did extra walking - the walking was pretty tiring in the snow, so it's probably pretty good for keeping up the fitness level.

I guess I could go on a field instead of the road...thanks for your comments :)
