Finally got the snow here, so decided to have a long walk round park instead, too slippy for my liking. I haven't run since Tuesday and I'm missing it :( Tomorrow hopefully...

I know - I walked out in it today but don't think I will be able to run in it with my trainers :-(

I've been running round the recreation ground as I definitely don't trust the pavements which is a little annoying as I was hoping to change it around this week and do a combination of grass and pavement running.

I hope you get a run in next week as it doesn't look like the weather at the weekend is going to let up.

it's a pain isn't it. I took my dog out but stuck to walking, I did see 2 people properly running though, maybe they have magic non-slip water proof trainers. I managed to fall over in the kitchen this morning because my wellies were so wet and icy so I'm definitely not risking it outside!

Oh snap! apart from the wellies! :)

I did see a couple of people, but they looked like 'die hards'. My running shoes slip on wet paving stones so I thought best to leave it! I've heard of the yaktrax (snow thingies), if the snow stays, maybe will get a pair...

You know as soon as you buy them we won't have any significant amount of snow for years. ;)

Not true! ;) Got mine for Xmas and now we have snow so I can use mine tomorrow instead of missing my run, yay!! :D

I had a little run (in wellies!) when I took our new doggy out for a walk in the snow. :-/

Running in wellies! True dedication! What did your dog make of the snow? I went out for a walk today (rest day - though walking in snow was harder than running I think!) and saw a couple with their dog, throwing snowballs for it to jump at - it looked as though all three were having a lovely time!

I took Fred out for a walk in the snow. The grippy spikey things for the bottom of my shoes were fantastic! Even walking down the hill of compacted snow (where they were sledging) didn't feel at all slippery. Looking forward to a run tomorrow morning (but not looking forward to going out without a coat and scarf; gloves and hat will be on, but big winter coat will weigh me down too much). Though be careful everyone, you can't see the potholes under the snow, that'll be nasty if you go down them!

...and puddles - I walked on a puddle hidden by snow - it made a lovely cracking noise, so I jumped fast, to a bit that I knew was grassy, as I didn't fancy frozen feet!

Remember everyone, it's not actually that much cooler than it has been for the rest of this week, we've just had extra precipitation.

That said, I might put knee socks on just to keep my shins warm :p
