Well I can hardly believe it just had my 65th birthday at christmas and have not run for 50 years or so and as of this morning just completed run 2 of week 1, I feel so proud and shocked. Lets hope I keep up the momentum.

Well done, that is fantastic. I'm nearly 60 and haven't run for 35 years and am now at week 8, so take it at your own pace and you will keep going.

You will be an inspriration to many younger people. (That might help keep the momentum going). I found once I started I just had to see if I could manage a little more, and yes, the programme leads us into it so well.

Good luck and enjoy the proud feeling after every run.

:-)

I have just read GoldenOldy's post and have to echo what I said - fantastic, well done - you should be proud of what you are doing and the inspiration you give to all of us - thank you!

Yup, you can do it! I really like the idea of a target to run on holiday - hadn't thought of that. A very good motivation to keep going.

Maybe we need to form a group, us 'golden runners'! I'm 63 and am contemplating signing up for a half marathon in September, having not run since I was at school. Fortunately someone advised C25K which is brilliant!

I'm now on week two and about to do my second walk/run this morning. The only problem I've found is that I've no sense of direction, so when the exercise finished on Wednesday I ended up two miles from home! Fortunately I've downloaded the Runtastic Pro app so was able to see just where I had gone wrong - viewing the map of my 'route' was entertaining!

Well done nannyp; you've done the hardest bit - starting!

I started last January not having run since school (46 years previously) and graduated in March on my 62nd birthday. This morning I ran 10K & I'm signed up for the Great Yorkshire Run in September. Keep at this (as I'm sure you will) and it'll change your life!
