Lost Keys recovered by a fellow friendly runner.

Still sticking to my 3 runs of at least 5K per week! Today the friendship of other runners again shone through. I run with a pair of showerproof long trousers which are light and comfortable and have plenty of pockets with Velcro fastenings so I keep my door keys in one pocket, some identification and money in another and my blackberry in the back pocket. I have used this for months with no problems. Today about a third of my way around my route I saw a runner coming the other way with a small dog on a lead on the same piece of pavement as me, I moved to run in the road so we could pass and he started to hold something up and wave it at me, as I got closer I saw they looked like my door keys, I felt my pocket nothing there “are these yours” he said I said “yes they are”. He found them in the road and I guess thought they might belong to a fellow runner. I thanked him and we both ran off our separate ways. I don’t know if he follows this blog but if he does thank you once again. I think this shows what a great comradely there is between fellow runners even those who do not run together but pass each other when out on runs. I am so glad I started running not just for the exercise but the great feeling of belonging to a community where the mixture of abilities does not seem to matter, we all want to run just for the joy of it and we all look out for each other. What a wonderful start to the day.

:) I agree - there is rather a nice feeling of belonging that is an added bonus.

Love it! Just shows there are lots of good people out there!

I felt like I belonged today....smiled at another runner going in the opposite direction and then on the final leg of my loop we passed each other again...we both waved and smiled...great sense of all being good in the world
