Week 6, run 2 - did it

But losing motivation. It's been nearly a week since my last run. I promised myself a bag of chips after the run, naughty eh?!

But am finding I have lost the motivation I had when I started. On a good note I never thought I'd be above to run for 10 mins. Seriously when I started I remember struggling to do 60 secs. That's quite an achievement eh?

Hi Newbie That is an incredible achievement, really well done! I hope to be able to run 10 minutes one day! Ed

Yes, it bloody well is. Why are you losing motivation? what do you want to achieve? What's your goal - fitness, weight loss, the challenge? Do you want to run a race, or a half-marathon? To be able to run 5k in 30 mins? Decide what it is and map that out and keep taking one step at a time. And then when you reach that, map the next one.

Did the chips taste good? Think how good they'll taste when you've run for 30 minutes? ;-)

Thanks all. Goal ultimately is fitness and weight loss. Haven't seen any weightloss although I feel there is a little inch loss

I think most people go through a period in their running like you, newbie! The novelty has worn off and it just seems like such a grind. This is when you have to dig in and go for it. You've come so far, think of your shiny green badge and the sense of achievement you'll feel! Lots of positive thoughts coming you're way! :)

Quite an achievement, indeed!!! I thnk that Viv and oona are spot on with their thoughts. Now is the time to decide what you want...and then go get it!! For myself, I wanted that "Graduate" badge and quite frankly, I wanted the opportunity to boast about being able to run 5K!! Well, I have both of those now and as Viv said, now I have mapped another goal out...10K!. (Please don't tell my wife Gayle (gdeann) about this. I haven't let her in on this little secret yet! ;-) )

You are doing wonderfully!! Keep going!! Oh yes, enjoy those chips, too!! :-)

Keep Running!! :-)
