I'm really impressed with the write up the Garmins get and am a bit of a gadget person myself, but as I've just found an App that does all bar the heart rate monitor thing I'm not sure i can justify another GPS (go one for the car and a brilliant Garmin for walking) unless it can be used with O.S. maps.

Can the Garmin watch display OS co-ordinates?
No, which is a great shame as last week I could have done with it. I took a copy of a map (MemoryMap printed on an A4 sheet) with me for my long run, managed to miss one path junction and got lost. I would have been able to instantly pinpoint my position if I had coordinates. I managed to find another path eventually, but it was frustrating.
As well as my Forerunner 10 running watch,I have a Garmin Oregon, which I use for hiking and geocaching and I like the maps on it, and the fact I can see exactly where I am. The Oregon is just a wee bit bulky and heavy to take running, but if/when I get to the stage of doing longer/more remote trial running I'll carry it.
Thanks swanscot - thats what i thought - same really the manufacturers maybe should take note.
Happy trail running.
Mo-mentum, I was browsing the Garmin Connect site today and I see they DO make a GPS watch that displays maps and coordinates (long and lat). The new Fenix is a proper GPS navigation aid. I think it may be quite new as there seem to be several threads on the Garmin Connect forums re software upgrades.
