Oooooooooooooof and grrrrrrrrr....

All throughout this process I have been very conscious not to push my body too far, not to ask it run before it can walk so to speak. Today I got cocky....and I'm not talking about the hole in my shorts pocket.....

I completed week six yesterday at around mid day ish, I woke up feeling good this morning, and penciled a run in for Sunday morning.

At 1pm I had a txt from a very old friend, whom I have not seen for a while (no it isn't Dave the taxi driver!, see my week 3 blog)..... Anyhoo it was suggested that we meet up and go for a curry....immediately my brain and body went into a calorific shock, and rather than suggesting an alternative, such as me cooking, I accepted the invitation.

Between 1pm and 5:30pm I had put on and taken off my clothing more times than 'Destiny' in the local lap dancing club does in a fortnight.... But at 5:30pm I ignored my body and trotted off.

Today's run was 5w 20r 5w, so I planned my route, I felt great until 15 and I stopped for the first time in this whole process at 19 mins....at first I was gutted, then I felt jubilation as that is the furthest/longest I have ran....possibly ever! However, it has come at a price, my legs are screaming at me, they are most miffed at my stupidity, so much so that they are now punishing me by making me walk like John Wayne.....

So.... If you are starting, and want to know the answer to the question 'do I have to rest a day' the answer is yes yes yes, don't push it, listen and love your body....

On a brighter note I am now off to fill my body with Lamb Bhuna and Cobra.....

See you (slightly wobbly) at the finish line....
