walking is a great way to build up fitness and much easier on the joints than running. There isn't much difference in the amount of calories used in walking 5k or running 5k and people are inclined to go further walking than they do running, simply because they don't exhaust themselves so quicky and by going for longer, they end up using more calories. One of the advantages with running is that if you only have a limited amount of time, you can do the planned distance faster than you would walking. If you are trying to lose weight, cutting back on what you eat is the best way. Hope you return to health quickly and then you could combine running some days with walking on others and feel fitter and healthier all round! :)

Thank you for your words of encouragement

soon i shall run again - im quite looking forward to end f october we are going away for a week for a family holiday and i know that walking on sand is harder that road so will be taking to dog out for walks along the beach and running around with the kids

hubby back to work now so my time to take dog out is limited to the evening, she is far too strong for me to take a baby a 2 yr old and a 4yr old all at same time so today its the wii dance games and work out vids and get the kids to dance along too xx
