It was so warm and cosy in bed this morning I really didn't want to get up and then I remembered that today is my weigh in day which got me going. Week one of the alternate day fasting combined with the exercise has seen me shed 6lb (2.7kg) since last week which, whilst not statistically significant, is a good start. I fully anticipate it will slow down from here on in but as long as it goes in the right direction that's fine by me.
The runs were easier this morning than I'd expected, fewer, longer runs were more comfortable than I'd imagined they would be. Wednesday will be the trial since it's back to work for me tomorrow, see you all then.

Well done on the weight loss Chewy!! I'm starting 5:2 this week and first fast day is tomorrow which is also my first day back at work too :/ I can't say I'm really looking forward to getting up at 5:30 to run before work but if that's what it takes, that is what I shall do!!! Keep up the good work!
Wow, what an incredible result! My 'reluctant husband' and I are just weighting up the pros and cons of the 5:2 diet and wondering about the practicalities. We'll be really interested to hear about your progress on the alternate day diet. Fantastic start!
Hi Oona, I don't expect such good results every week but I'm finding the diet very easy. On the fast days I try to stay close to 600 calories then on the feast days I eat whatever I like so it doesn't seem like an endless chore. Interestingly, I don't feel like pigging out on the feast days, I just eat fairly normally (and even have a beer).
