Started week1 of the program and afterwards started having some tightness in the upper parts of both my legs, is this normal and how long should I wait until I can continue running?

Is it just tight or is it swollen/painful? If it's the former then it's probably just your body adjusting to the new exercise and you should be good to go again after a full day's rest, as per the programme. If it's the latter then take some anti-inflammatorys and see how you feel in a couple of day's time. Your body will take time to adjust, but provided you aren't in pain then just trust in Laura. :)

It is more of a discomfort but it is something I can cope with. Thanks for the advice. :)

You may find it improves if you take slightly shorter steps when running but you're probably ok to attempt your next run as planned. Make sure you stretch after your runs. Try to walk a lot or stay reasonably active (non-impact exercise) on your rest days as that will help ease the "tight" feeling. Good luck :-)
