I have had 3 weeks off from jogging now and am going back to it tomorrow. I have completed the c25k and had been doing 30 mins for a couple of weeks. Just wondering how I should start back? I am lacking motivation a bit too and could really do with getting my mojo back! Any advice will be gratefully received
Not jogged for 3 weeks, any advice?: I have had... - Couch to 5K
Not jogged for 3 weeks, any advice?
Hi I took 4 weeks off in June due firstly to a chest infection then just being lazy! Unfortunately this coincided with when I was meant to do my very first 10k event!
I felt I was losing my mojo a bit so I signed up to another 10k 6 weeks away. I had downloaded a runnersworld training plan to follow.
For my first run after my break I just told myself to get out and run at my easy pace for a minimum of 20 mins to test the waters as it were. Ended up doing 35 mins and had a lovely run! I also went for a swim after in case to help ease my muscles after a longish break.
I did the 10k this morning and loved it! Considering a year ago I couldnt run for my train I am so happy now!
I have also started going to Monday night speed sessions (lot more fun than they sound!) run by a local running group just down the road from me.
I think starting to do parkruns or signing up to an event and/or joining a club (they usually have groups for slower/newer runners) is key.
Hi i didnt run or 3 weeks as i did my back in but i did a week 6 then i saw the new pod casts and tried the stepping stones one , found it ok gonna do it a few more times get my stamina back up as i had to walk a couple of the bits but just get out there and your fitness and mojo will soon come bk. I agree maybe find a 5k or 10k locally to sign uo for which might help you . just getting bk out there is a start and try for your 3 times a week again.
Glad you can get back into it after 3 weeks folks as I am on week 2 because of an injury and so worried that I will end up back at the beginning.
