First day of Week 1

Wow...Is all I can really say. It was not easy at all. I also did not do all the running. Started out okay. Around the 13 minute mark my body wanted to give out. So we took a 5 minute rest. On the way back started the jogging again. I just could not do it. I did get the whole 30 minutes done just with more walking then running.

I know its going to take time. I will get there!!

What an excellent start, you must feel great having got out there, it's the hardest part isn't it and you did it, it will get slightly easier next time. Well done :-)

Good on you for getting started and for completing 30 minutes - you will get there and the rewards will make it worth persevering.

Good luck next time - start off slower than this time, to save energy for the rest of the 30 minutes.

Thank you all for the support :-)

Congrats on your W1R1!

I think we were all in shock when we discovered quite how much week 1 was asking of us!

It's great that you chose to take the break when you needed it, too.

Good luck for the next one!

Well done! I started yesterday too, but didn't do as well as you ... managed about half the session. Hoping to do better tomorrow. Feels good to get started though, doesn't it! :)

Well done on starting the plan and welcome to the community! The first week is really sheer hell for most of us so don't let it put you off. Bit by bit the body adapts and even it seems like a small beginning, it's still the building block for the future sessions. I kept thinking that all those aches and pains and gasps were just my body mending itself after years of inaction. I'm really looking forward to hearing how you get on.

Thank you all so much. My body is feeling the pain today. My back and legs are hurting pretty good today.

Hi Marbar - how are you feeling today? Hope you're up to doing your second run?

I started on Monday too, and only managed about half the podcast, having to sit the rest out. I seriously doubted whether I would manage to get back out there again, as I had a headache and nausea all day on Monday and a bit yesterday too. However, I researched the problem, found out I needed to stretch my neck/shoulder muscles before and after the run, and felt fine today! (I only did every other run, thereby giving myself 4 minutes walking in between each one, and that way managed to get to the end of the podcast.) Already feeling like I have more energy ... hope it works for you too!

Val :)

Well done Marbar. I started today, I'm not following the podcast just yet. I started walking briskly then started jogging between lamp posts because I just get too out of breath trying to jog for a minute. I feel real good that I manage to walk/jog to my parents and back again. :-)

I'm looking forward to tomorrow so I can do it again. :-)
