Heartburn?

I'm on week 3, run 1 and have been having terrible heartburn half way through running - even though I've left at least 2 hours from having my evening meal. Does anyone else have this??

I have this problem, though I'm not sure if it's caused by me being more physically active or me being on Testosterone. My GP has put me on one 20mg capsule of Omeprazole per day and it's done wonders! I only get heartburn now if I do something silly like run on a full stomach or eat lots of tomatoes. It's worth asking your GP about.

My brother went through a nasty phase of excruciating stomach pain some years ago. He will not run within 3 hours of eating now.

I do not suffer from heart burn, but from food repeating during a run, I find 2 hours is not enough time to leave after eating which can make things a bit awkward. I normally run before breakfast or after I get home from work (if I'm not starving for dinner!). 4 hours is best for me, depending on what I've ate 3 hours can be risky!

If you can try running before your evening meal to see if that makes a difference.

I use to have some heartburn. Last year I had a camera put down my throat as i was having other trouble (turned out to be coeliac disease) and they found I had a hiatus hernia which meant acid was being kept down the way it should.. After starting Omeprazole I have had no heartburn.

Worth seeing your doctor.
