Wk3R1 - I am a new person

So this is my first post - have been been reading all your blogs and comments for the last few weeks and find them hugely motivating. I am 45, at least a stone and a half overweight and have never been an "exercise" person unless you count zumba once a week!! But this morning I ran for 3 minutes - twice!! I feel like a new person - am so pleased with myself!

Admittedly I did feel I was going to collapse at the end (but I didnt) and I did keep myself going by working out what to write in this post rather than watching the clock :-)

So I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who answer questions and put motivational comments on blogs - so often I have thought "thank goodness it is not just me" - it has got me to the point where I know I am going to keep going - even in the rain!!! (A totally new experiance for me!!)

Welcome! It sounds as if you've got the running bug already ;)

Looking forward to hearing how you get on .

thanks ever so much for the lovely comments - that is what I am talking about!!! :-) the name is because when a friend saw my FB status that I had started to run she thought I meant on the Wii ;-) Which just proves that anyone can do this. thanks again :-)

Welcome. They are great on here and really keep you going. I have had a couple of iffy runs and even thought about throwing the towel in last week, but the supportive comments and advice really pushed me into having another go. Congratulations for getting this far we are at same stage and i am proud simply because it hasn't been easy.

Well done! I'm on week 3 too, & have found that final 3 minute run is hard. This site is excellent for keeping the motivation going, it's nice to know 'it's not just me', because sometimes when I'm running I feel like it is. :)
