Luckily what I do I do it for myself !

This morning very proud of myself I told my partner that tomorrow was my graduate day........... I am still waiting for a word of support / encouragement. What a shame because i do listen to all his golf achievements every Friday when he comes back home from his competitions and I am always very supportive ! :-(

Grrrr. I like the title of the blog by the way. Hate golf with a passion and it is a shame that he cannot show the same support and encouragement that you do.

Men eh? What are they like?

Never mind, you will get lots of encouragement on here. Well done on reaching week 9 and all the best for your graduation run tomorrow.

Well done you. The next time he comes home telling you how good he was on the golf course today, just say

"Sorry can't stop to listen just now, got to map out my new running route, but may be get a chance to listen once I've tested it out with a run" Then add the final bit of

"I've got over 2000 new friends since I took up running and they're sooo very proud of me as I am of them" :) That will wipe the goofy smile (nic name for golf smile) off his face and make him see sense.

How has his handicap improved over the last 9 weeks ... bet your equivalent improvement for running knocks the socks off his.

How long is a typical golf course? How long would it take you to run it? Why not trade stats on a friday night. I think W5r3 is like a hole in one as is graduating.

Sometimes my OH needs hitting over the head (metaphoricly of course) before he realises that something means alot to me. Have you tried bragging about your running achievements to him as loudly as he does about his golf successes,

him: I got a woopity woop today

you: bet you felt as good as when I blah blah etc etc

Congratulations to you! Don't think to negatively of your partner. My husband is like that, too, but I know that he's supportive of me. I believe that it doesn't really register with him, because running comes so naturally to him. I am not sure if your guy has actually seen your progression over the past nine weeks (gone with you on runs), but I am pretty sure that had he watched your development he would encouraging and congratulating you, too.

My hubby and others have been the same about C25K and my dramatic weightloss. That's why I got on 3 forums. 1 for my horses, this one and my weightloss one. People who share your interests and understanding are the most supportive. The others, they just don't fully understand so I feel I get more from sharing my achievements with strangers.
