Week 8 run 2 Fail

Today was supposed to be run 2 of week 8 but 10 mins in to run 2, got cramp in my left calf muscle and a couldn't run. The pain was so bad I had to hobble to nearby bench and sit down. After a further 10 mins I hobbled home with still cramped calf muscle and mild pins and needles sensation in foot.

Completely p****d off, I was having a good day untill that happened. Now sat in house like a sulky child cause I didn't complete run 2.

Will try run 2 on Friday, I hope cramp doesn't return.

Anyone got any tips on how to avoid cramp, or is it just one of those things?

I know folk that swear by eating bananas and tomatoes as the potassium in them can help. Tonic water for the quinine content is also said to help but you'd have to drink a heck of a lot to get a decent dose. Equally neither remedy will do harm either.

I personally think it is one of those things that some unfortunate folk suffer worse than others. Proper hydration and a good stretching routine is probably the best preventative of all.
