That's week 7 done! Ok so its a day late but the combination of staying at my parents house for a few days and sharing a room with my 2 year old (sleepless) nephew I'm a bit surprised I did any running at all. Yet I did haul myself out of bed at 6am and joined the 'proper' runners along the Thames in central London (Sweet jebus there were loads!! mostly show offs running like lightening with what I assume were rucksacks full of bricks...) for w7r2 on Friday. It went OK with the exception that I had the bright idea of taking a bottle of water with me which was larger then I would usually have taken with me which of course by half way felt like I was running with a kettle ball (promptly binned outside the Festival Hall).
W7r3 was a rather wet affair. I'm so glad after the slightly windy/damp weather conditions on Friday I decided to buy a cap because today I really needed it. I had been quite excited about running in the rain but I was completely unprepared for the sheer amount of rain absorbed by my clothes! It hadn't even occurred to me lol. I got back home soaking wet, heavy and dying for a hot shower! But at least I didn't have to fight with the stray bits of hair which refuse to stay in the ponytail wrapping itself across my face at whim. And to be honest I loved it. I didn't see anyone at all the entire run or warm up/down walks and because of the rain I couldn't tell the difference between rain or sweat. That annoying habit of sweating between my fingers wasn't an issue today
I can hardly believe week 8 is next and the end is in sight. I suppose I should start thinking about what next
