I usually do a really long swim on a Thurs (my running rest day) but because it's half term the lane swimming has been abandoned for fun sessions so I thought (that now I'm a graduate) I might add a little extra run into my programme.
So this morning off I set to do a short 20min session of intervals. I did a 5 min very slow warm up run then alternated 1 min of fast running with 1 min of very slow running for 10 mins then did a 5 min slow warm down run.
I feel great after doing it. If you haven't got time to a full on 40min+ run then this is just the ticket. I'll be back to my normal longer runs tomorrow but will look forward to my next interval session next week.
Just a quick question, will I regret adding a 4th little run into my week?

I did a similar thing this morning too, I was going to start the B210k plan but didn't think I could fit an hour in and still get to work on time so i did week 2 on a fast/slow run basis. I was quite shocked by how fast my garmin said i had run on the fast bits. I can't say that I totally enjoyed it but i think I will incorporate this kind of run into my weekly plan for the future.
Some of the plans I have looked at do have consecutive runs, I imagine that as we get fitter and are doing different kinds of running it shouldn't be a problem but don't overdo it.
