It took me 40:42 to get to the finish line but I did it! Hot? Yes. Walked some? Yep. Did I feel like I had to vomit during the last 1/2 mile (yes I'm from the US)? Yep. But I still managed to sprint across the finish line. I felt great afterwards and I can't wait to get out there and start pushing myself just a little more to increase my time for my next run/race. While I know that isn't really the focus for finishing, I now need a new goal so better time is it. My first goal has been realized. I've never been prouder of myself than I am right now.

I was a true couch potato. Pizza, pasta, anything unhealthy and sitting on my butt on my couch from the time I got home from work to the time I went to bed. I no longer eat like that and I no longer feel useless.

Thanks to Laura and the team and all of you out there for standing by me while I pushed through. I can't wait to see my graduate badge next to my name. :D

Congratulations, you are right to be proud. Its not easy, I don't think anyone would say it is, especially if you have not be active before taking this up.

Good luck with your training to reduce your time, thats what I am facing now too, keep us posting on how it goes, we may be able to motivate each other - Eeek this is going to be hard work if this hot weather keeps up.

Well done.

Thanks everyone! To answer TJ's question, I'm going to just keep running. I'm already registered for three more 5Ks and am looking for more. My goal, in addition to lowering my time, is to run two 5Ks permonth. June is all set. Just need to find one more for July and all the subsequent months. :D

Oh and Anna, I still look like a lump too, but not as big of one as I did when I started the program. :)
