tried to speed up - didn't work

I thought I would try to increase my speed today by going back to week 1 and using the 60mins to run faster. I am afraid it was a wrong move. Within the first 2 runs I had groin pain and my piriformis muscle was really shouting at me to stop.

So decided speed its not going to be me. But time and distance will have to do.

Did you have a good normal paced jog before trying to go for speed. I'm hoping to try to do a bit of up and downhill faster than normal next week but had decided to do a 10 minutes warm up jog first followed by 20 minutes of interval up/down hill and flat, then jog home. Thats the plan only time will tell if it happens or not.
