It's all about "the HILL"...

Well you see I have this bloody steep hill that comes in the first longer run every time. This morning, W4R1, it was a the very beginning of the 5 minute interval. NO one would call what I was doing "running" by the top of the hill...but I hadn't completely broken down to walking, either. It took til minute 4 for my chest to stop heaving, and I was glad for the minute and a half walking break that's for sure. What's that? O, yeh...there is a way to go around the hill and stay on the flat, but I'm just bloody minded enough to not do it.

I love C25K....

Certainly rings true. I live at the top of a hill. So whatever way I go, I'm always running uphill right at the end. You're right - the only way to get through it is grim determination.

Keep on running.

I do too, Duncan, a long half kilometer grind that thankfully comes in my final cool-down walk.....for now. Can hardly wait...lol

Awesome work. The hillwork is a killer in the early stages of the program but it will pay off in the end when you can run (jog) up it comfortably one day down the track. It stands you in good stead for hills that will crop up later when you run further and you wont be daunted cause you have allready done the heartbreak!

well done

Nice job! I remember the first time I ran up my hill. You see, I live in what can only be considered a valley. If I want to run anywhere of some distance, I have to run up a gigantic hill. The first few times could only be called a shuffle and if I had of seen me doing the shuffle up the hill, I probably would have laughed...hard. Now, on week 9, I can actually run up the hill at a considerable speed (for uphill that is) and it's great. Good for you on being so determined. :)
