I've been lurking for too long!

I think I will need the support of the community this week. Today I am due to do W5R1 - after last week it seems achievable. But the menace of W5R3 is looming!

Change of route planned for tonight - so far I have been running up and down a lane beside the house but not sure I can face doing that for 20 minutes! My plan tonight is to take the boys to cricket then do my run round the nearby park - I've seen people coming out of there in lycra so I'm sure there must be a suitable route.

I thought I might be aching a bit today as I "invested" in a Pilates DVD which I did for the first time last night. But I feel remarkebly unstiff so should be fine for the run tonight. I'll let you know how I get on later.

I put off R3W5 for nearly 3 weeks (just kept doing R1&2) but in the end it wasn't nearly so bad as I thought and I found I sort of got into 'the zone' where I could just keep running at a steady pace which didn't happen on the shorter runs. Good luck and don't be discouraged if it takes a bit longer than 9 weeks. I've been running since Feb and am only on W6 but given that I've never been even nearly fit before I think I can allow myself a slower pace than some of the others! The trick is to get out and do something.
