Tried to run yesterday, but only managed about 15 mins, and it was the the first time I couldn't finish my run
But I pushed myself to do it today, and I did all 25, but my calves are killing me! Does anyone know any of the factors that make running sometimes a breeze and sometimes so difficult?!

I failed W7R1 after 5 minutes but I hadn't run for a week, I had done a 10+ mile walk 2 days before, had eaten and drunk and then gone back on my VLCD diet so all of that contributed to me not being able to put one foot in front of the other.
I am repeating W6, did run 2 this morning, mainly because I had missed a week and failed so badly but I have found it surprisingly easy compared to the first time round which has boosted my running confidence beyond belief.
I think the biggest impact for me is probably alcohol but it (and everything else!) is not permitted on my diet so it shouldn't be a problem (until the next time I fall spectacularly off the wagon)
I didn't start doing C25K all the time I was still on my VLCD. When I moved up a step (I'm on Cambridge) I left it a couple of weeks to get used to the plan then started on week 1. When I got to week 5 I moved up another step (1000kcals) on the advice of my consultant and that's fine for me to run 5k on.
I find my hydration levels really makes a difference too and I make sure I've eaten a couple of hours before too.
I find if I'm well hydrated, fuelled up, in the right mindset and ready to take what comes I have a much better run. You can get compression socks I think they help with aching calves, I make sure I have some protein afterwards to help repair the muscles. Also the tough runs runs make the good runs so much sweeter!
