W4R2 some good news...

It was doom & gloom on Saturday - completed W4R1 and spent the evening on the sofa with ice packs for company. My leg was on fire. Sunday not much better & going up & down stairs was not easy. Kept doing gentle stretches, toe taps etc

Today decided to try W4R2 and made it - leg protesting a bit but not too much. Hey - it was both legs hurting last week, so definite improvement.

However icing on the cake was going to see the GP afterwards to get cholesterol test results - its been high for a couple of years. Three weeks ago it was 6.8, so looked like we were about to have the statin discussion again. But GP made a mistake & forgot to ask for results breakdown so I had a repeat test & its down to 5.5! GP was stunned at the drop in just three weeks. I bounced out the surgery.

Thank you C25K - its this program thats made the difference !!!!

Oh Boy! That's an amzing result.

Does running help lower cholesterol? I'm really intrigued. I've never had mine tested, I suppose I ought to.

Glad todays run wasn't too painful!

thank you! Yes, exercise (& diet) can lower cholesterol. Its worth getting tested esp if any family history of heart disease. I hadnt expected such an improvement in a short period, so yet another reason to recommend this programme. Shame its not promoted more within the NHS - it must be one of the best health improvement programmes around.
