Outing 2 for the boring fat old bloke on holiday in Australia, and a nice and 'gentle' visit to the bush. Actually, it was the Morialta nature reserve in the Adelaide Hills, just outside the city. we did it in the morning, before God turned up the heat to the day's full 31 degrees. And I thought the previous day was hot...
About half a mile took us past a couple of dozing Koalas (lazy things -they should get their own C25 programme) to a nice waterfall. It was a one way trip and no option but to return to the car park before taking an alternative, 3.5km, loop. This took me up a heck of a steep hill to some brilliant viewpoints - see this pic or mmcinteractive.com/oz/04.jpg The track is the winding path at the left of the pic, and I started from way down in that dark chasm ... It then ran along a plateau and down an equally steep descent, again to the car park. The total was just under two and a half miles, but it took well over an hour. Why? Well, take a look at the surface - mmcinteractive.com/oz/03.jpg - and you'll get some idea.
The other reason (and the reason for the title of this entry) is that I left Laura in the car and took my beloved wife instead. Now I do love my wife dearly, but when it comes to pacing, she honestly leaves something to be desired. My desire for a long and happy life means I can't tell her that. But Laura, if you will forgive my infidelity, will you come out with me again next time?

It's horrible in Somerset- solid hard rain. Dogs won't go out of the door, let alone run! But the idea of C25 koalas made me hoot with laughter. Thank you. I think your loops would undoubtedly count as hard 'cross training' in Laura's books.
Wow that looks pretty! tough though I should imagine! What a place to run you lucky thing Your poor wife, shame on you, she's a good un for going with you Keep us posted with moor pics pleeeease!
Lovely scenery, Oz is just the best and most diverse place to run. Watch the hydration though. Most runners are out at dawn and dusk in the warmer months for a reason... Keep us up to date with all the other places you run on holidays.. Love living vicariously!
