Don't stop me now!

I just thought that I really need to share my experience with all of you other C25K runners. Despite being on Week 1, I decided to move on, because I already have quite a good fitness base from my cycling, tennis and cricked. Anyway... I have run twice today.... Firstly I did a kind of custom version of a 30 minute work out, with a start of 1 min run 1 min walk twice, and then moving up to 8 minutes of running to finish off my 30 minutes on the running machine. I felt so hungry for more though, that this evening I decided to go again. So, onto the running machine I went, and began with 3 minute warm up walk, 3 minute run, 1 minute walk, 2 minute run, 1 minute walk, 2 minute run, 1 minute walk and then a 20 MINUTE RUN!!!!!

I can't believe it... Got carried away, but absolutely loved it. Maybe for the next 2 to 3 weeks I can build on from that, and onto longer runs of 40 minutes on the running machine, and then perhaps 30 minutes outside.

All I can say is that I am feeling great and loving my running experience. Bring on the running at sports day this year!! ( My friends will be shocked, as I am more known for academic achievement and ball sports than running distances!!)

Oh! Btw, thanks for all your support, and comments on my last blog. You have all inspired me and helped me through!

Ha ha! I was already quite fit, so I think that I should just try to build on this and maybe look to doing the Bridge to 10k course in a few weeks time. I've managed to get my family involved too - they are on week 1 now but really enjoying it! My cousin is an experienced 10k runner, so I hope he can help me to achieveing that next aim in the next few months. Thanks for all of your comments - they've driven me on and helped me through

Well lets face it runnerboy you didn't really start on the couch!! but great to hear how you've taken to it like a duck to water, I'm sure running will help balance out your academic stuff and it will be great for you to see your mates faces when you show them a clean pair of heels!
