The feel good factor.

Ran Easter Sunday morning, doing 9k in one hour, five minutes. Loved it and it felt a lot easier than I remember from last year.

When I got back home everyone was just getting up. I couldn't help but feel a wee bit smug inside; I had been running through field of rapeseed, bluebell woods, deer ran out in front of me (that was a 'wow' moment) and I generally felt SO alive! My senses were on such a high and i felt so lucky that I could go and run and feel this way. Does anyone else feel like this, like you're really lucky and that everyone else who doesn't run is missing out on this amazing running world?

Back to the run ...I probably could do it faster too, I'm finding the audiofuel track keeps up the speed really well but I settle into a slower pace when I just run to my own music. I think I'll get another one which is longer.

Happy Easter everyone, and happy running!

TJ, great inspiration here!! Yep, I have the same feeling (not always!) - I don't have quite such nice surroundings as you (except once when I ran when I was away on retrreat in Bournemouth a few weeks ago) but I especially loved running when it was very cold. I just put my thermals on, woolly hat, gloves (oh, plus clothes I hasten to add!) and felt like I was running in my own little nest - kind of hard to describe but really lovely!

Which audiofuel are you using? I'm thinking of getting one as I'm about 3 weeks post-C25K now and trying to speed up ready for 10k at the end of May (and a half-marathon in September!). I've just started B210K but my 5k is currently taking 45 mins and I don't really want to be out there for an hour and a half when everyone else has gone home :-(

Happy Easter to you too !:-)

Hi Juicydee, You are doing really well and I have been reading and enjoying your blogs :) I think that the new NHS podcasts are going to be great for you because they will help speed your pace up i.e. audiofuel but with the added benefit of Laura's encouragement too. I am using adenaline junkie 2, which is 43 minutes long and has a couple of sprints in it. There are all sorts of different ones so have a look on itunes and see which one you think will fit the purpose. They have some free downloads too, so you can at least check out if it is your kind of thing!

Yes whenever I run outside I get such a fantastic feeling even if the run is difficult and I also feel very lucky to be able to do it! So glad I found this programme! :)
