Entered My First 5k

OMG! did I really just do that? I entered my first 5k run yesterday, the Perkins Great Eastern run in Peterborough in October. I figured if I wasn't ready by then for a 5k then I would never be. I am excited and also scared I have bitten off more than I can chew! I have just finished W2R3 and I didn't find it too bad at all so will be starting W3 this week. Bearing in mind I do each week twice as that works better for me. I am having a bit of a niggly knee at the moment as well, so am strapping it before running, is there anything else I could do to help with my knee during my runs? x

You'll be fine for the 5k by October. I think it's great to have a goal to work too it's what makes me keep going. My first race is July (5.6km).

Sorry can't advise about the kneww...probably the only part of my body that didn't hurt after Monday's run :)

Great idea, I have just signed up for race for life but a real race is such a great thing to aim. I'm going to find something in my area around the same time.

Thanks for the inspiration.

Forgot to say I use a knee band rather than strapping or a brace and it works brilliantly for me.
