W2 R1

Yesterday did W2 R1. I have virtually lost my voice and have one hell of a sore throat but am still determined to do my 2nd run tomorrow. Doctor gave me antibiotics today even though she thinks I have a virus and they may make no difference, but because my throat has been sore for nearly a week and now my voice is all but gone she thought it best to give me them, however she said she is happy for me to keep up with my running. So tomorrow I will be off again and I must say I am enjoying every minute of it, I was worried what W2 was going to be like but I didn't find it as bad going from 60 to 90secs jogging as I thought it would be, and my legs didn't ache as much as they have been either and to make it even better the weather is lovely and the birds are singing...great!

  • Great indeed :)

I didn't find the gradual longer runs too bad either as they are just slightly longer than the previous runs. Hope the throat improves soon :)

  • Congrats on week 2. Hope you feel better soon. Today I am doing W2 R1. I did this about 6 months ago, got to week 3 or 4 and just QUIT. I was doing fine with the increases. This time no quiting. Thought we could encourage one another since we are at the same place in the program?

  • Hi Debbie, hope you got on ok today with your run, I found it harder today than sunday for whatever reason, maybe it is because I am not better yet and am a bit tired, my voice is still not back properly yet but the soreness has eased up, but it is giving me an irratable dry cough which is really annoying. I hope you keep on with your running this time, and yes it would be nice to have a friend on here who is at the same point as I am, it would be nice to spur each other on and chat on a regular basis about how we are doing. Will be doing R3 on Thursday.

  • Yeah.... Im excited to have an online running buddy. Im in CA. Where do you live? I plan to run this afternoon. Will let you know how it goes. I imagine it would be hard to run with a raspy voice........

    Keep up the good work
