Guess what, I can run for 8 minutes, no I can't believe it either! spent all day trying not to think about it, got to the gym, trying not to think about it, got on the treadmill and turned on Laura and tried not to think about it. when she started to talk, I was suddenly thinking about it, could I do it? was it really possible? started off with the walk, launched into the run, decided to have a go and run for as long as I can, telling myself I can stop if I need to, suddenly I realised it was time to slow down and I had run for 8 whole minutes! when it came time to do it again, I thought you know what, I can do it! now, I am trying very hard not to think about the next one, the dreaded 20 minute one! got home and looked in the mirror and thought, yep thats definitely me! I can run for 8 minutes, who would have thought that 6 weeks ago! good luck to everyone else, and believe in your self! (and believe in Laura too).
wk 5 r2 - done!: Guess what, I can run for... - Couch to 5K
wk 5 r2 - done!
WOW go you and thankyou, im one run behind you and was dreading the 8 mins, (not either think of the 20mins) but now you've inspired me!
Don't worry about the 20min run. Most people find that their imagination has made this run much worse than it really is. Just take it steady and you will be fine.
agree with don't worry in advance about the 20min run, you will do just fine, so try not to over think - which is easier said than done! Lol listen to Laura, take it really steady, and look at it this way you've done 16 mins in one session already
and i also agree with blueboots and Bxster! The worst thing to do is over anaylse it...you can already run for 16 minutes! Take it as slow as you need to, its the running for 20 minutes that's important not the distance / speed for now. Good luck to both you & formallyfoundonthecouch...not that either of you need it!!!
