Well thats the first run done and im feeling great. Was very unsure about going out running solo, decided to do it last night under the cover of darkness!! Ecountered quite a few people out running (although they did look way fitter, almost quite olympic looking) it was nice to see others out. Looking forward to run 2 now, bring on thursday.
For anyone else who's maybe not feeling that confident about running the streets solo, just go do it. After a few minutes you will be too busy concentrating to worry about anything else.

I totally agree just go for it...at least you're out there doing it, it's something to be proud of! Most people are probably wishing they had the motivation to do it. I know that's what I thought when I saw people running before I started.
Well done on your first run, keep going it's a great feeling finishing a run and moving onwards and upwards
well done i was unsure at first going out on my own but i always go in daylight and if i see anyone i just run over to the other side of the road , head down and keep going lol apart from an encounter with a few of my daughters friends a few runs ago its been great , at least now i've met them and if they see me coming again there is no suprise as to who it is lol i will admit it does scrae the old men running up behind them panting they turn around just as i zoom across the road , dont know who's more scared lol keep going though its great to be out there in the fresh air.
Good for you now you've started it should get easier to go out there solo. I'm only at week 2 and I run along a dual carraigeway, which thankfully doesn't have many pedestrians!! Still I put my head down if I'm passing anyone as I don't want to scare them with my big red sweaty face lol!!! Anyhow it's fantastic feeling when each run is completed and I love sharing my experience with this community. So well done and keep us posted on how you get on.
Yay! Well done and keep it up. I'm starting tomorrow and need all the motivation I can get
