Enjoying running for the first time in my life!

I start Week 3 on Friday and never thought I would see the day would say I actually enjoy running! I detested running at school and thought I couldn't run - until two weeks ago. Can't wait for Friday and the beginning of a new week even though I know it's not going to be easy. Nothing that's worth anything in life ever is though. Coming across C25K accidentally is the best thing I ever did!

  • hi Debrabwfc i just done my 2nd run on week3. its great never thought i would enjoy it as like you i hated running at school as well , i dont know how i managed it but i got out of cross country every time at school and used to walk the road run lol . now 25 yrs later i can run for the 3 minutes in one go and its fairly easy. hope you enjoy your week 3 i do my last run on friday then on week 4 cant wait . keep it up it s more fun every time

  • I also came across C25K accidentally and I can honestly say that it's made me fitter, healthier and happier. There's not many things that can boast of these benefits! I am sure that if you love running now you'll stick with it even if it is sometimes tough. Good luck with week 3 :)

  • Hi Debrabwfc, I am in the same place as you with my first week 3 run on Friday! I feel exactly the same. Hated sports and cross country at school always felt sick and had cramps and stitch, not to mention a horrible PE teacher! 22 years after school I am finally going to get fit and these podcasts have just been the best there is no way I would have lasted this long without them. Good luck with week 3 I'm sure you will do great!

  • If you're in week 3 now, can you believe that in 2 weeks you'll be running for 20 minutes non-stop?? No, neither could I, but dammit, I just did it this evening!! Keep going - as maddykins says it does get more fun each time :-)
