The kindness of a stranger

As l mentioned to Rainbow2019 I’m still listening to Sarah Millican a month after graduating. I like to hear her counting down.

In fact it was just me and Sarah today as my music cut out. That is until a lady joined me. She was walking around the meadow and instead of a usual ‘Good Morning’ in reply to my greeting, she said, ‘You’re brilliant! ‘ What a lift she gave me! I have to admit I was taken aback by the kindness of a stranger and it didn’t matter that any longer that Sarah and I were jogging without a backing track!

How lovely - but also true. You are indeed brilliant and it’s great that she noticed. Keep up the good work. The fact that you’re still getting out there are doing the runs helps motivate those of us behind you.

People are almost always far nicer than you’d expect. And they are also almost always in awe of the fact that we’re running. Get used to the admiration because you deserve it 😊

Really it was just so unexpected. She was obviously challenging herself to walk a complete circuit of the meadow and yet had time to spur me on. Most kind 🙏
