So here I am.. gosh.. never thought someone like me at 50 with everything heading south could do this .. but just finished week 3. Was determined to stage an intervention on myself even if my staggering along amuses the proper runners at least I make them smile . So pleased to be here with the support. You have all got this !

They’re smiling because they’re pleased to see someone else out pushing themselves like they are. I’ve found runners to be a friendly and welcoming bunch.

Great job on completing week 3. Enjoy week 4

We do! We’ve got this! I also finished third week, but the alternate reality version with zombies! And it’s the second time around! Which means: I know it works! And we’ve got this!

Brilliant! Welcome! And awesome!

Ha ha, it’s a running tracking app with an immersive audio story attached. ( healthunlocked.com/bridgeto... )

I just realised too the other day from a member of the forum what the Zombie app was had to google and found it to be another running app similar to C25k so had a little chuckle to myself it’s not just me.

They smile because it’s all relevant- the mental and physical effort is real for all runners. Good job getting out there. I find most runners whether they are plodding along happily like me, puffing furiously or gliding along gazelle-like really do welcome the sight of another runner. 🙂👏

It’s a real boost to us middle aged moms. You will feel fantastic at the end of the course. You will soon start to see a few changes in your body shape and that will boost you along. You really have got this. Don’t worry about anyone looking at you. You are out and you are running for you. Think about the feeling you have at the end of each run, it’s such an awesome feeling, snd it will feel even bigger as the weeks go on… keep going, you are flying girl!!

What a fab message ! Also can’t let Denise down my coach… I wonder if she realises what an icon she has become to ladies of a certain age !!

I loved Jo Whiley as my coach, loved her comments, down to earth stuff. 😃

Well done -I suspect that many of the "proper runners " are smiling as they remember being exactly where you are this time last year! Keep at it .

Hey there Middleagedmum! First of all well done you, keep it up!😁 And second of all, runners who are smiling even as they pass you, are offering a greeting and acknowledgement, as opposed to being amused by your 'staggering along' I guarantee you, they are wishing you well and egging you on! I know, because I've been the 'staggerer' and the runner who is smiling acknowledgement, much, much later on😃😃You go for it, you're doing it for you!🏃‍♀️
