Hmmmm… having completed C25K beginning of year I’ve now not run for one reason or another and wondering where best to restart again? Anybody had to do the same at any pond?

It is now August........so do you mean you haven't run for 7 or 8 months?

If so you would be advised to start again from W1, just to gradually rebuild your condition, stamina and injury resistance.

Use it or lose it prevails.

Sorry that was so unclear. Started C25K at beginning of year and completed it in May. Continued to run until school holidays started and now on holiday so will be a 2 month break (including different holiday diet 😧

As stated in the guide to the plan, you lose no significant condition in the first two weeks of non running. After that loss of condition is gradual.

All any of us can do after a lay off is to go out for a gentle run and see what we can comfortably manage, then use C25k or something similar to rebuild stamina and resistance to injury.

Yes I think you may be right. It may not be as bad as I’m anticipating. I like a bit of structure so may go back a few weeks. But disappointed with myself though. 😔

I was running regularly, then the swimming pools re-opened so I abandoned running and went back to swimming. When I tried running again it was just hard work, so I started the programme again. I'm loving it the 2nd time around and am much more relaxed about it all this time. I know what's coming up and that's just fine.

That’s interesting, thanks. Maybe that’s what I should do. Difference is this I imagine that you know you can do it 🤷🏻‍♀️

I had 3 months off with back problems, I went back to week 3 and took it from there, completed week 5 (the first 20 min run!) yesterday without all the worry of first time around. Try a short run and see how you feel, listen to your body and if needs be start again, good luck!

So do you, you've already done it. And this time I've repeated runs which has helped me feel more ready to move on. Just get stuck in, there's no rush, go through the programme at your pace and enjoy each progression. Good luck!
