Has anyone had any success with wireless earphones? I don’t want expensive Apple AirPods in case they fall out.

Hi, I wouldn't want to use ones like Airpods as I'm convinced they'd just pop out at random moments! I use Aftershokz, which are bone conducting earphones and are allowed in most races. There are other brands that also do bone conducting and are a bit cheaper. I wear them around my neck when i don't want to use them on part of the run.

I also use Aftershokz and love them.

Me too, best for running as you can also hear traffic and people around you. They are the only headphones that are approved for official runs. We went for the Aeropex as we run in all weathers.

Just a word of warning about "true wireless" ones. If they're not really secure in the ear they will get lost at some point.

I suppose they will but so far we have been lucky

I never could understand the design of Apple’s ear buds. They never stay in my ears more than 5 minutes even when I’m not running. Maybe I’m wearing them back to front😉

I bought some identical looking to those a couple of years ago for about £20 from Amazon. The make is Mpow. Absolutely brilliant. Battery lasts about 14 hours, they dont fall out and are rain/sweat proof. Sound is great too. They came in a case with usb cable, spare ear rubber bits ( in 3 sizes). I wasnt expecting much for the price but they were so good I bought some pink ones for my wife too. Unfortunately my wife didnt get on with them but has problems with all she has tried so far. I bought her a headband type which she can use. They are advertised as being able to sleep wearing them. Both types connected to the phone easily. Mine can connect to multiple sources so can connect to the phone and watch etc.

Beats Powerpro headphones have a hook that sits snugly over your ears so they’re nice and secure. 😊😊😊

I use Kamtron Marathons. They’re about £25 on Amazon. Is the fidelity as good as Apple in ears? Obviously not, you’ve only paid £25 for them. But, you’re not going to lose them, they’re comfortable, have volume up and down, next and previous track and whilst I’ve not used them to make or answer a phone call apparently that works as well. They clip over your ears and if they fall off ( mine never have), you’ll easily find them. They come with a usb charging lead but not a mains plug.

I’m happy with them.

The specs say:

Charge time about 3 hours

Talk time about 12 hours

Music time about 10 hours

Standby time about 110 hours

I bought some Boltune ear buds from Amazon which have been great. Currently only available in Khaki (£35.99) or pink 😏(£32.99). They are very reliable and don’t fall out. I fall to sleep in them most nights and they are still in in the morning. They have 3 sizes of ear bud too. I’d recommend if you like khaki or pink 😂

I use a Bluetooth hat or headband- sub £20, but you can get hats around a fiver and take the Bluetooth bit out to put under a headwrap.

I tried three different kinds of wireless pods and all three were a waste of time either falling out, not working properly and poor sound quality. I finally decided to buy Apple air pods after my son told me they were great. He wasn’t wrong! Although expensive they have never fallen out (you will get three sizes of buds) and the set up tells you if you have the right buds in! They also have noise reduction, and you are able to locate the pods if you misplace them. If you enjoy running and music is a big part of that for you - just go for them you won’t regret it. I bought mine from Amazon and you don’t think they are worth it - return them. Mo

I recently purchased some Amazon Echo earbuds and they've been excellent. Have been out on a few runs and they've stayed secure. Good sound quality and connection too. Normally around £120.

I use bone conducting headphones. The sound quality when jo whiskey is talking isn’t good but music is great. They were only cheap from Amazon.

I've got a fancy Bose pair, which are great (Free SoundSport I think). However, I also have these others for the train & for running sometimes. The noise cancelling is really good and they have a neck cord, if that's what you prefer. They're about 25 quid from Amazon - Soundbuds Slim. smile.amazon.co.uk/Anker-He...

I have these... they're £9.99! They're amazing. They turn on and off automatically when you take them in and out of the case, so there's no fiddling about with buttons. You charge the case and the case charges the earbuds. Bloody love them.

I bought after shokz( I think that’s how you spell it). They don’t sit in your ears. Sit round the back of your neck & actually sit on the bone & conduct sound so you can still hear traffic. I got them from Amazon.

I use Apple AirPods and they’ve never fallen out BUT the thing I hate about them is that you can’t change the volume up and down on them 😡So I wouldn’t recommend them for that reason - buy a brand where you can tap them to change volume, as required.

My husband bought me Samsung ear buds that looked heavy and I thought they would drop out immediately. However, I am really pleased with them. They have never fallen out or even felt like they were going to fall out, snug comfy fit and really good quality sound.

Hi Benttoe, I got the great value Letscom U81 wireless headphones for under 20 pounds 2 years ago on ebay. They are very comfortable and secure. They came with 3 different sizes of spare rubber ear buds. Volume is adjustable and you can control music track sequence. They are waterproof (I accidentally put them in the washing machine!) and they have an inbuilt microphone and control button so you can receive and make phone calls on the move. 2 hours full charge will give you 8 hours talk/ playback time. I can highly recommend them!!! Good luck with whatever you decide 🙂

I would second (or third) the recommendation for an MPOW Bluetooth headset. Had mine a year now and it's great! It works across various devices too. One charge lasts ages and given the price, I'm not too concerned if they get lost or break. Really pleased with them ☺️
